Your aerobic fitness, measured and explained.
Keep your laboratory VO2 Max report alongside your body composition and resting energy results. See reported thresholds, training zones and changes across repeat tests, with the original PDF available to check.

Measured in a lab, not estimated from your wrist.
The dashboard presents measurements from your exercise test. Available stages, thresholds and zones depend on the report and protocol used by your clinic.
VO2 Max
Peak oxygen uptake in ml/kg/min and litres per minute, against age and sex norms with a fitness classification.
Ventilatory thresholds
VT1 and VT2, the two points where breathing changes gear. These define your zones far better than a percentage of max heart rate.
Fat Max
The intensity where you burn the most fat per minute. Useful for base training and for anyone with body-composition goals.
Heart rate and power
Peak heart rate and, where your report has it, power at each stage, so your zones can be used on a bike, a treadmill or the road.
Gas exchange by stage
Oxygen and carbon dioxide across each stage of the test, charted from the numbers printed on your report.
Substrate use by stage
Fat and carbohydrate oxidation in grams per minute at rest, warm-up, Fat Max, VT1, VT2 and max.
Everything the lab sees, made readable.
The dashboard is built around your metabolic cart report rather than a summary of it. The detail is there if you want it; the headline and your zones are there if you do not.
- Stage summary table. Rest, warm-up, Fat Max, VT1, VT2 and max with predicted values and normal flags.
- Stage charts. VO2, heart rate, VCO2, power, fuel use and energy by stage. Stages are plotted as the discrete readings on your report, not as a continuous breath-by-breath recording.
- Training zones. Heart rate and the other bounds your report provides. If a bound is not reported, it is left blank, never set to zero.
- Progression across tests. VO2 Max, thresholds and Fat Max over time, alongside your DEXA trend.
- Test details and original PDF. The visit date, reference set and protocol, with the original report one click away. A first test is shown as a baseline, and progression appears once you have another.
- Upload your own. Supported VO2 Max reports can be uploaded yourself and are read on our systems without sending the PDF or its text to an outside AI service. They are marked as self-published, not clinic-approved.
Who it is for
- People who want to track laboratory-measured aerobic fitness
- Endurance athletes who want zones built on their own thresholds
- People on a fat-loss programme who want to know their Fat Max intensity
- Anyone who has been told their fitness is "fine" and wants to see the data
Exercise testing is not suitable for everyone. Ask the testing clinic about screening, suitability and whether clearance from your doctor is needed. MyBodyLab does not conduct that assessment.
Arrive ready to go to max.
Before testing
- Complete the clinic's screening process
- Ask about food, caffeine, exercise and preparation
- Discuss medicines with your clinician; do not change them based on this website
On the day
- Wear the clothing and footwear your clinic recommends
- Bring any information the clinic requests
- Confirm appointment length and recovery arrangements directly
Preparation guidance is general. Follow any specific instructions from the clinic performing your test.
About VO2 Max testing.
How is this different from the VO2 Max on my watch?
Your watch estimates VO2 Max from heart rate and pace. A laboratory test measures your actual gas exchange, records whether you reached a true maximum, and identifies your ventilatory thresholds, which a watch cannot do.
Do I need to be fit to do the test?
Suitability depends on your health and the clinic's assessment, not just fitness. Ask the provider to explain its screening process and the protocol appropriate for you.
How often should I retest?
Agree a retest interval with your testing clinic or clinician based on your goals and circumstances. Use comparable protocols when reviewing change.
Bike or treadmill?
Either, depending on the clinic and what you train for. Results are recorded with the protocol and ergometer so retests are compared like for like.
